tea pot mHow interesting it is to make cute little things for cupcake decoration or even for decorating cakes. Another interesting part is, select any theme and involve your kids in this activity, you will see they will come up with a lot of ideas. My son Ali was giving me ideas like including a small vase with flowers and a table cover 🙂 It was fun making these small beauties with my sons. This arrangement is for cupcake.

c m mHave you ever heard about Gajjar Mukhadi / Carrot and Semolina Desert..???? Mukhadi is a famous Halwa of KPK and Punjab but this carrot Mukhadi was a surprising thing for me also when my maid first time tell me. I just garbed the pen and copy down her recipe. Very next day i was experimenting in my kitchen 🙂

It was very different in taste and aroma then Mukhadi. Carrots are in season so do not forget to try this recipe.

Semolina1 cup (soak in 2 cup water)
Sugar3/4 cup
Carrots grated1/2 cup
Ghee/ Butter1/2 cup
Nuts and khoya for garnish


  • Soak semolina in water for 15 minutes then drain excess water.
  • In a heavy bottom pan add Ghee and cardamom, let it crackle.
  • Add sugar and let it melt on very low flame. You can check this process here MUKHADI HALWA
  • Grate carrots and set aside.
  • Add semolina  in ghee and stir for five minutes.
  • Add carrots in semolina mixture and now get ready for muscular exercise, because you need to stir constantly till ghee separates.
  • Garnish with nuts or khoya and serve hot.

IMG_0603Kund Park is a very beautiful place.It is situated on the confluence of river Kabul & Indus on the main G.T Road near Attock bridge. Due to its unique location the park has become a recreation spot for the people.

You can cross the river to get into the park by boats or cable cars or take a road trip from a small town Jehangera, thou road is not well constructed but if you are a nature lover then you will definitely enjoy fields and rural areas of KPK. We took a road trip to get into the park.

There was a small zoo inside the Kund Park,before 2010.


Zoological Garden was an attractions for tourists.In late July, 2010 Pakistan floods resulted in severe damage at Kund Park. As many as 23 bears that were living in the sanctuary lost when the water rose as high as 60 feet above river level.Leopards, deer and bears all drowned as the murky waters
quickly engulfed them.Lost all its wildlife including 100 endangered species in this year’s flood crisis.It was the worst single natural destruction of wildlife in Pakistan.The floods had crippled the park’s perimeter and destroyed the bear centre. The sanctuary started out as a research station in 2000 to provide veterinary care and shelter to 27 bears formerly used for baiting. Fifty turtles kept for research purposes were also washed away and killed.
KPK government re-constructed this park.

Decorated Boats

We tried bbq food from a road side Dhabba style restaurant which is famous for fresh water fish fry and bbq.It was a memorable trip for us.

Boiled potatoesas needed/3 large
Saltto taste
Black pepperto taste
Butter1 tbsp


  • Mash potatoes with masher and then in hot mash potatoes mix butter ,salt and black pepper.
  • Make two balls one is for head and other is for body. Make beak from beet root and eyes from black pepper.
  • keep them in fridge and then serve.

My dearest , 11 years old niece Laiba helped me out in cutting shapes for all kids. Its quiet easy and interesting way to attract kids…:)
Just cut 1 inch pieces of water melon and cut flesh with any cookie cutter of your choice, and as many as you can.
Arrange in skewers or make lollies…choice is yours.

I saw a Google picture of Gummy bear Popsicle few days ago.I loved this idea for kids.Keeping the concept in my mind i tried my own version. Instead of adding bears you can add any kids jelly available in market.



Jelly bears or any other needed
Soft drinkas needed
Popsicle tray
Mango juice / pureeas needed


  • Fill jelly bears in Popsicle tray and pour over sprite/ dew/pepsi/ marinda.
  • Insert sticks in it and freeze it overnight.
  • Take them out and enjoy with your kids…:)


  • Make mango puree by blending pulp and a little amount of sugar in blender.
  • Fill in Popsicle tray and enjoy.
  • You can make with mango juice also.

Potato Roses are very tempting and beautiful garnishing of any food or dish. I am sharing two different methods of making Potato Roses.

  • Cut paper thin slices of a big potato, you can peel the skin or just wash it with brush and cut slices.
  • Soak slices in chilled water to avoid browning.
  • Arrange slices as mentioned in picture and secure with tooth pick.
  • Deep fry them.Take out tooth picks before serving.

  • Cut slices with slicer.
  • Fry in oil for few seconds till soft.
  • Overlap slices and roll.
  • Place in a muffin tray.
  • Bake for few minutes till golden brown color appear.

IMG_1004 Last post about Fondant was liked by all and i know you are waiting for this post. I will explain how to make ROSES and how to make a cake.


  • Take a small portion of dough and roll it in a cylinder form.
  • Cut equal pieces and make balls ,make a long strip from one piece.
  • Take a plastic sheet and place all pieces on sheet and cover it.
  • Now press with your thumb to form a thin irregular circles.
  • Now roll long strip with finger tips and make inner Petal of flower.
  • Now arrange all three petals with inner one and turn edges outside with finger.
  • Cut the excess portion from bottom of flower.
  • Your rose is ready.



  • Roll dough and cut flowers with cutter.
  • With the back of knife give impression on petals.


  • Roll the dough as thin as you can.
  • Prepare butter cream. Now cover the cake with very thin layer of butter cream.
  • Cover the cake with rolled dough and cut extra edges and corners of dough.
  • With a flat knife or spatula remove air from covered dough .
  • With the back of the knife give marks on fondant.
  • Arrange flowers, bow or any thing of your choice.But before placing flowers or bow spread butter cream on the bottom.

These cute strawberry flowers are very easy to make ,just dip them in melted chocolate and sprinkles .Let them cool and insert wooden skewers in leafy part.Serve and enjoy the tangy chocolaty flavor of these cute flowers.

IMG_5758mainThese sensational lollies make a real spring indulgence. This recipe is an elegant , sophisticated and easy treat for all friends. Make shells and freeze ,when needed take them out fill with ice cream and serve… 🙂


Dark chocolate13 oz
Vanilla ice cream or full cream as needed
Mixed dry fruits ,chopped
(for topping and mixing)
4 tbsp
Toffee / crunch4 tbsp
Cocktail Fruitsas needed
Plastic disposable glasses6




  • Take small size disposable plastic glasses.
  • Melt the chocolate in a bowl set over a pan of gently simmering water.
  • Pour into the cups and, tilting to coat and pour out excess.
  • Chill until set.Repeat one more time to make a shell.
  • In a bowl beat cream ,mix nuts,toffee and crushed cocktail fruits.
  • If you are using ice cream then fold all in ice cream and fill in chocolate cups.
  • Stick a wooden stick into the cream and freeze for 10 minutes.
  • Reheat the remaining chocolate and pour on top of chocolate cups.
  • Top each with nuts and crunch.Return to the freezer until set.
  • Before serving remove lollies from glasses. (cut plastic glass with scissors)
  • Serve immediately.

Orangesas required

  • Scoop all the flesh out of the orange halves.
  • Stand the empty shells on muffin tray to help them upright.
  • Make up the jellies of different colors. But add half water then instructed on packet.
  • Pour jelly in the skin of oranges.Keep in fridge.
  • When set cut carefully in three segments.
  • Now make sails with paper and cocktail sticks.
  • You can make sea with blue color jelly.


IMG_2674mainGreat recipe for  all age groups.These stir chocolate sticks are a treat for kids in winter. Perfect for swirling in hot milk or coffee or enjoying right off the stick.


Semi sweet chocolate1/2 cup
Milk chocolate1/4 cup
Cocoa powder2 tbsp
Icing sugar3 tbsp
Cinnamon powder (optional)1/4 tsp
Ice cream sticksas needed
Molds/ice tray/ candy mold


  • Chop down the chocolate and add in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Add all other ingredients in it and place in microwave for 1 minute then stir it add again place it for 1 minute.
  • When melt pour in small cups and insert ice cream sticks in it or if you want to make shapes like i did then place shape cutters on butter paper and pour chocolate in it, insert sticks in the chocolate and ask someone for help to hold the sticks for few minutes ..:)
  • When slightly set keep them in freezer for few minutes and then take them out.
  • Remove from molds or cutters and store in a container
  • Serve with coffee ,milk or enjoy as it is..or you can gift these to your friends too…:)

In our language we can call it as” NUTELLA KE LACHE DAR NAAN”….LOL. This is my own successful creation.This can be you breakfast, brunch, hi tea snack, kids lunch box snack or you can give this as a gift to your sweet friends…:)


Plain Flour2 cups
Sugar 4 tbsp
Salt1/2 tsp
Butter2 tbsp
instant Yeast2 tsp
Nutella spread/ any other chocolate spreadas needed
Granulated sugaras needed
Egg wash1 no.
Milk1 cup (for kneading)


  • Add all ingredients except Nutella  and knead well with warm milk.
  • Set aside for 2-3 hours and then divide dough in 4 portions, dust plain flour on working surface and roll the dough.
  • On the rolled dough spread nutella and then roll one portion and make a long roll.
  • Now make a coil shape of this roll and with light hands roll it again to make a flat bread.
  • Brush egg wash on top and sprinkle granulated sugar.
  • In the same way make all four breads.
  • Bake it at 180c till bread become brown from top.
  • Serve hot with Chocolate or Caramel topping.
