A rich chocolate cake for special occasions with rich chocolaty frosting. You can’t go past maltersers Chocolate Cake recipe, which is a perfect treat for kids. This recipe is taught by Zarnak Sidwa. Hope you will try it 🙂


Soft brown sugar150 g
Castor sugar100 g
Fresh milk175 ml
Horlick powder2 tsp
Unsalted Butter15 g
Plain flour175 g
Cocoa powder25 g
Baking powder1 tsp
Baking Soda1/2 tsp



Icing sugar250 g
Cocoa powder1 tsp
Horlick powder45 g
Unsalted butter150 g
Maltesersas needed


  • Pre heat Oven at 150c. Grease 8 inch pan.
  • In a bowl add eggs, brown sugar and castor sugar. Beat well.
  • In a pan add milk, Horlick and butter. On low flame just melt butter. Milk should not boil. After dissolving ingredients, remove from flame.
  • Stir to release heat from milk mixture. Let it warm.
  • Add in egg mixture with light hands. Beat well.
  • Sieve soda, baking powder, cocoa powder and flour and mix in egg mixture. Beat well.
  • Transfer in baking pan and bake for 25 minutes approx.
  • In a bowl add icing sugar, cocoa, Horlick and butter. Beat well.
  • Keep in refrigerator for few minutes, it will set and you can easily spread.
  • Cool down cake completely and cut from center and spread frosting in between.
  • Cover cake with frosting and Let it set in refrigerator for few minutes.
  • Garnish with Maltesers.
  • Serve with Coffee 🙂

Afghani pulao or Kabuli pulao is a national dish of Afghanistan. Festivals and celebrations are incomplete without this rice dish. I am very fortunate that I have learned this recipe from an Afghani family. So I can say its an authentic recipe from Afghani kitchen. Mutton / beef / chicken1 kg
Fresh Ginger paste1 tbsp
Saltto taste
Water for making stock3-4 cup or as needed
Onion1 medium
Oil1/2 cup (for making stock)
Almond1/2 cup
Raisins1/2 cup
Carrots3 large
Sugar 2 tbsp
Sella Rice 1 kg
Oil for frying nuts3-4 tbsp


  • In oil fry sliced onion till light brown. In meat add meat, garlic paste and salt.
  • Fry till color change and add water. Cover with the lid till meat tender.
  • Wash raisins and soak for 15 minutes.
  • In a pan add oil 1-2 tbsp. and fry raisins. Till they become double in size. Remove from pan and set aside.
  • In the same oil fry almonds (soak almonds in hot water for 15 minutes and remove skin). take them out.
  • Grate carrot or cut Julien, should be very thin. In  the same pan add carrots , 3-4 tbsp water and 2 tbsp sugar. Cook till soft and water dries completely.
  • In a pot add 2tbsp sugar and melt till brown color appear. Add meat stock  Approx 1 cup in it. Add cardamom powder and cumin powder in stock. Cook for few minutes.
  • Soak rice in water for 1-2 hours, boil in salted water till done.
  • Now add stock mixture on rice and mix well.
  • Spread meat, raisins, carrots on rice and let it simmer for few minutes.
  • Mix all and dish it out. Garnish with almonds and serve hot.

I have requested her to share her scrumptious recipes with my readers on regular basis. Today I am sharing a very different and tasty recipe from her collection.



Mutton boneless cubes1 pound
Garlic1 tbsp
All spice powder1 tsp
Cumin seeds1- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder1/2 tsp
Green chillies4-5
Onion1 small
Crushed red chilies2 tsp
Roasted split chickpeas, remove the skin1/2 cup
Coconut powder2 tbsp
Coriander leavesas needed
Mintas needed
Onion1 small, chopped
Boiled potato1, optional.


  • Remove bones from meat and wash it.
  • In a pot add meat, garlic, salt, green chilies, onion, cumin, red chili powder, turmeric powder and water approx. 2 cups.
  • Cover with the lid till meat tender and water dries.
  • Chop meat and set aside.
  • Roast black chickpeas and coconut on pan and grind into fine powder form.
  • Now mix this in meat.
  • Add chopped onion, mint, coriander and egg in meat. Mix well.
  • Make kebabs of diamond shape. You can give any shape, like I have given heart shape.
  • You can add 1 boiled potato in meat as well, if you like.



  • Fry in oil and serve with Chatney

Kata Kat or Takka Tak is one of the famous meat recipes in Pakistan. You can make this at home with the same taka tak sound 🙂 I have tried the recipe of COOKING WITH FAIZA. It was finger licking delicious.


Whole Black pepper 2 tbsp
Black Cardamom 5
Dried ginger powder1 tbsp
Mace/ Javtri1/2 tbsp
Poppy seeds1/2 tbsp
Whole coriander seeds1/4 cup
Cumin seeds1/2 cup
Green cardamom7
Clove/ laung1 tsp
Nutmeg/ jaifil1 tsp
Cinnamon stick3 pieces , 1 inch
Coriander powder1 tbsp


  • Grind all spices and store in an air tight jar.
  • You can store it for an year.
  • When needed, use according to your taste and requirement.


Goat Liver1/2 kg, chopped
Kidney2, washed and chopped
Goat Heart1 , chopped
Goat Brain2, cleaned, washed
Tomatoes 2 large, chopped
Onion1 medium, chopped
Yogurt1/2 cup
Kata kat masalato taste / 3 tsp
Red chili powder1 tsp
Saltto taste
Butter3-4 tbsp
Green chilies4
Green coriander leaves1/2 cup
Ginger 2 tbsp
Fenugreek leaves/ Qasori methi1 tbsp
Garlic fresh and grinded2 tbsp


  • In 2 cups of water mix garlic paste and prepare garlic water.
  • In a wide pan or tawa add kidney , liver and heart of goat with 1/4 cup garlic water. Cover with the lid till water dries.
  • Cook on low flame, add more garlic water if needed. Cook till meat tender.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and onion in it and cover again till soft. Now add Brain and cook till brain cook well. ( I have not used brain in my recipe )
  • Add green chilies Julien cut and mix well.
  • In a bowl mix kata kat masala, salt, red chili powder and yogurt. Mix well.
  • Add in meat and cook on high flame now. Use two rice spoons to do kata kat.
  • Cook till water dries. Now add butter and mix.
  • Add green coriander, green chilies, ginger Julien cut and qasori methi. Mix well.
  • Serve with Naans.

Al Kabsa or Kabsa rice is Arabic Rice dish. Serve this dish with Tomato Chatney or sauce which will enhance the taste of Rice. I assure you, your family will like this dish.


Chicken cut in 6 pieces1 kg
Onion5 medium, thinly sliced
Cumin seeds, crushed2 tsp
Green Cardamom3
Red chili powder2 tsp
Turmeric powder4 tsp
Tomatoes5-6 large, cut in small pieces
Rice1 kg
Cooking oil1 and 1/2 cup
Saltto taste


  • Soak rice in water first.
  • Fry onion in oil till light golden in color. Oil you can use according to your requirement.
  • Now add chopped tomatoes , salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder and stir constantly. Cover with the lid till tomatoes become soft.
  • Add chicken and mix well. Add cumin and cardamom. Fry chicken with spices. Add water double in quantity from rice.
  •  Cover with the lid till chicken tender and water boils.
  • Add soaked and drained rice in chicken.
  • Let it cook till water dries.
  • Simmer rice for 10 mins. Kabsa Rice is ready.
  • Serve with Tomato Chutney or sauce.
  • You can add Shallow fried Resins and almonds ( peeled). Garnish on rice before serving.

  • Blend tomatoes first.
  • Blend all other ingredients and mix in tomato paste.
  • Mix well and serve with your Kabsa Rice.
  • I serve this sauce with Tihari and other rice dishes too. You can also try and give me your feed back.

Light and airy cake with crushed almonds inside and mango glaze on top. A perfect bakery style cake with a cup of evening tea.


Flour1 and 1/2 cups
Baking powder1 tsp
Sugar1 cup, grind it
Butter/ ghee1/2 cup
Vanilla essence1 tsp
Salt1/4 tsp
Milk1/2 cup
Almondsas needed
Mango juice small packet, any brand1
Sugar1 cup
Corn flour1 tbsp
Water2-3 tbsp


  • Sift flour and baking powder. Set aside.
  • Melt ghee and let it cool.
  • In a bowl add sugar and melted and cooled ghee. You can add butter also but no need to melt it. Beat well.
  • Now add eggs and beat.
  • Add vanilla essence, salt and milk. Beat.
  • Add flour in it. Fold it in batter. Add crushed almonds in batter. Pour in a pan.
  • In pan place a butter paper and grease it.
  • After pouring cut almonds from center, arrange on batter.
  • You can add cocoa powder if you want chocolate flavor almond cake.
  • Bake at 180c for 25 minutes or till done.
  • Take a small packet of mango juice and pour in a pot, add sugar and mix well. Now cook till sugar dissolve.
  • Mix corn flour in water and add in juice. Make a thick sauce. Let it cool completely in refrigerator.
  • Take out cake from mold do not remove butter paper from side of cake and spread sauce on top  let it set for 1/2 hour and serve.
  • Enjoy this moist and delicious cake.

Few days ago I have got a chance to visit a beautiful and Historical place Attock Khurd.  A road along with Attock Fort will take you to this mesmerizing place. Attock Fort was built at Attock Khurd during the Era of Mughal King Akbar during 1581- 1583. This Fort was built to protect the passage of River Indus in Mughal Period.



Beautiful River Indus will give you a breath taking view


You will see a lot of Historical buildings and remains in this area. Like Attock Maqbra, Behram ki bara dari, etc.


Attock Khurd (the old city) has a rich history and was of special importance to the entire sub-continent. The great grammarian Pāṇini, who wrote the Aṣṭādhyāyī, the oldest surviving Sanskrit grammar, is said in some historical sources to have been born near Attock in Shalātura, modern Lahur, on the right bank of Indus River in the ancient Kambojan/Gandharan territory in 520 BCE. In those days Attock was located on the high road, the Uttarapatha, the principal route of international commerce and communication between the sub-continent. Persia and China

The Attock Khurd railway station is situated near Old Attock Bridge on main railway line. This railway station was built around 1885 during British rule. In March 2007 it has been renovated and declared a tourist resort.


It is one of the most beautiful railway station of Pakistan. It is surrounded by lush green hills, and its magnificent building has Victorian architecture and composed of stone masonry.


It is the gateway to Attock Bridge. All trains run between Rawalpindi & Peshawar pass through this station without stopping here.

Attock Bridge (Urdu: اٹک پل ‎) is situated between Attock Khurd and Khairabad Kund on Indus river in Pakistan. It is commonly known as “Old Attock Bridge”. This bridge is one of the most important strategic and commercial crossing on the Indus River between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, hence was heavily fortified. It was originally designed by Sir Guildford Molesworth and was opened to traffic on 24 May 1883. The cost of construction was more than Rs 3.2 millions.

The structure was redesigned by Sir Francis Callaghan and was reconstructed in 1929, at the cost of Rs 2.5 millions. The bridge has 2 levels and 5 spans. Three spans are 257 feet long and two are 312 feet long. The upper level is use for railway traffic and lower level was used for road traffic. The approaches to the bridge were built as solid fortifications – as a defense against raids from nearby Pashtun tribesmen.

This bridge was a part of famous Grand Trunk Road. In 1979 a new bridge was constructed and road traffic was shifted to there. This new bridge is known as “New Attock Bridge”.

Attock Bridge is still in use for railway traffic.

This nutty and crunchy cold cake recipe is of Kokab Khwaja, you can make no bake cake in no time and keep a batch in your fridge all times.


Butter8 oz
Plain cooking chocolate8 oz
Sugar4 oz
Canned Cherries4 oz
Marie biscuits8 oz
Nuts (almond, walnut, pistachio)4 oz
Orange juice2 tbsp


  • Grease and line a loaf pan.
  • Melt chocolate and butter in a pan, you can melt in microwave as well. ( if you want to use milk chocolate than reduce quantity of sugar)
  • Now add sugar in chocolate and stir.
  • Roughly break biscuits and chop nuts.
  • Fold biscuits and nuts in chocolate. Cut cherries in two and mix in it.
  • Pour in pan and spread evenly.
  • Cover with cling sheet and keep in refrigerator.
  • Let it set and take it out from pan.
  • Pour chocolate sauce on top and serve.
  • You can keep in refrigerator for a month.
  • Enjoy 🙂

For me this dish was different and unique. Seekh kebab Karhai is one of the famous dishes in Attock. I tried two different Karhis with seekh kebabs. Today I am posting creamy seekh kebab karhai, second recipe will post later.
You can make Seekh Kebabs with chicken or Beef. I am sure you will like this dish.


Seekh kebab (KnNs)7-8
Tomatoes3 large, chopped
Onion1 medium, sliced
Ginger1 inch piece
Saltto taste
Yogurt2-3 tbsp
Red chili powder1 tsp
Red chili flakes1/2 tsp
Crushed coriander seeds1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds crushed1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder1/2 tsp
Black pepper1/2 tsp
All spice powder/ garam masala1/4 tsp
Cream1/4 cup
Oil1/4 cup
Coriander leaves, green chilies as needed
Kasuri methi1/2 tsp


  • For seekh kebab Recipe you can click the link : BUNDO KHAN KAKORI KEBABS.
  • I have used K&Ns chicken Seekh kebabs. You can make at home or use readymade. Half fry them and set aside. Cut them in pieces or you can cook as it is.
  • In a pan add tomatoes, garlic cloves, onion and ginger . Add half cup of water and cook till soft and mashy. Let it cool completely.
  • Grind it and set aside. Tomato sauce is ready.
  • In another pan add oil and fry chicken Seekh Kebabs till light brown . Add yogurt and all other spices fry for few seconds on high flame. Let the water dries.
  • Now add tomato sauce and cover pan with the lid and cook till oil separates.
  • In the end add cream , green chillies, coriander leaves and dry methi.
  • Let it simmer for few minutes on slow flame.
  • Serve with Roghni naan or plain naan.
  • Enjoy.

I know most of you like Golgappas filled with chickpeas and potatoes along with sour and spicy water. One of a very famous snack in Pakistan. My personal favorite. But here is a different version of Gappas. A quick and easy dessert for chocolate lovers.


Golgappasas needed
Cooking chocolateas needed
Cake or Brownie , small piecesas needed
Nutsas needed
Fruits (pineapple, mango, banana, strawberry)as needed
Ice Creamany flavor
Chocolate sauceas needed


  • Melt cooking chocolate and dip gappas in it. Coat them and place on a flat plate. Let them set in refrigerator.
  • Take any ice cream of your choice.
  • Break Gappa carefully from center and fill half with brownie or any cake. You can add crushed oreo as well.
  • With spoon add ice cream inside.
  • Top it with nuts.
  • You can add chopped seasonal fruits also like banana, mango, pineapple or strawberry.
  • Pour chocolate sauce or Nutella or any chocolate spread on top and serve immediately.
  • Yummmmm.

Let’s jump to our actual Plan:

Find and Stop Eating High calories foods:

Most of the people want to filter their diet plan and remove the high calories food from their list but they don’t know the exact method…

I mean who’s that free to read the labels and ingredients for finding the exact calories every time…

Here’s the Formula:

Just stop eating the foods from the shopping bags, wait what?

Yes, I mean the processed food from the market including your favorite burgers, pizza, nuggets and the list goes on…

And all the other foods which you buy from the market like Biryani, Qorma and our other traditional food items…

Why stop eating these Items?

The processed foods which we love to eat from the market are totally loaded with oil and calories and are your enemies in weight loss.

I must tell you that our digestion system is not smart enough to digest these foods completely without exercise…

So, these foods get stored in our body in the form of fats and calories which you know very difficult to burn.

When you are going to lose weight then you don’t need the extra calories even you need to burn the old calories, so stop eating these items immediately if you love your body.

Start Eating Low-Calories Natural Foods:

You might be thinking that I had already stopped you from eating everything by saying to stop eating from market but it’s actually not…

“Not from eating market” never means this Sunday you are going to the store for buying bread and mayonnaise and make the burgers at home.

Then what will you eat?

As I have already mentioned above that when you are trying to lose weight you need to stop eating extra calories and start burning the old calories.

So, for stopping yourself from eating the fats and calories you need to start eating the natural foods.

Natural foods are very low calories and your digestion system can easily process them without any exercise.

But which Natural Foods, you are saying?

The foods which are not processed and can be taken directly and those qualities are in Vegetables and Fruits.

Yes, as you are the taste lover so you could eat every single recipe of vegetables without adding any kind of meat.

In your this diet plan, you could also eat your favorite fruits even after eating 3 times in a day.

So in a nutshell: Your diet plan will be eating the protein breakfast at morning like bread with egg and cup of tea, Lunch with your favorite vegetable and in Dinner again the vegetable recipes.

If you feel hungry in between the meals then eat your favorite fruits except for banana.

After maintaining your eating routine around tasty vegetables and fruits now you are not gaining any extra fats and calories and your body is ready to lose the weight.

But I must say don’t break your routines…

Start Doing some Cardio Exercise:

I know most of the foodies don’t enjoy doing the exercise…

But here’s the deal…

You just need to do the exercise for 25-30 minutes… yes, it’s that easy…

Simply select your favorite cardio from running, walking, jogging, rope jumping and start doing it for 20 minutes then after some days increase your time to 30 minutes.

If you are eating the vegetables and fruits and doing little cardio exercise session believe me soon you are going to see some big results.

Sip some weight Loss drinks:

Most of the people who are trying the weight loss drinks are not on the right diet plan and this is the reason it never helped them in losing extra calories…

Here’s the Secret…

If you are drinking the weight loss drinks (Green tea is the best) after your exercise session then you will get the maximum benefits from it in less time possible.

You can also try some time black coffee without cream and other weight loss drinks but without sugar when green tea is not looking the best option to you.

So, by just sipping the green tea after exercise you would burn the more calories.


When you are trying to lose weight in an easy way then, first of all, you need to find and remove the high calories food from your diet as I mentioned above.

Then you need to find and make the list of your favorite vegetables and start eating those in your lunch and dinner on the daily basis.

After some days when you think that your diet plan is well settled and you are ready for the next step then start the cardio exercise with little session and go to the maximum time duration.

Don’t ever try to starve for losing more weight because it’s not the good way, just keep eating natural and losing weight slowly but effectively.

Quick recipe which you can make in no time. You can do variation in filling. Use left over chicken or beef mince or add veggies and serve with Nando’s Hot sauce.


Chicken / beef mince1 cup
Onion1 small, chopped
Oil2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste1 tsp
Saltto taste
Red chili powder1 tsp
Black pepper1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder1/2 tsp
Soya sauce1 tbsp
Nando's Hot sauce1 tbsp
Coriander leaves1 tbsp., chopped
Puff pastryas needed
Egg yolk1
Sesame seedsas needed


  • In a pot add oil and onion, fry till soft.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and stir for few seconds, add mince, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, Nando sauce, soya sauce and black pepper. Mix well and cook till done. Let it cool. ( you can add veggies also)
  • Roll puff pastry and cut in square shape. Cut the edges, as mentioned in pictures and place spoon full in center.

  • Brush water or egg yolk on edges to seal them.




  • Cover mince with corners. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  • Bake at 180c in pre heated oven.
  • Serve hot with sauce.

Nabeez‘ [Nabidh] was one of the drinks consumed by the Holy Prophet (Sall Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam). In his time, it was typically made with dates or raisins and water.

It is an alkalizing tonic, having the tendency to remove acidity from the stomach and digestive system and it also helps to remove other metabolic wastes from the body. It improves digestion as it’s high in soluble fibre and it strengthens the memory. It assists the spleen function, liver, throat, chest and prostate, and so is particularly good for men. Nabeez will also benefit patients of Arthritis and elevated levels of Uric Acid (gout).

Ajwa Dates or any other dates avalible3-4

  • Soak dates over night in a covered container. You can soak MUNAKA OR GOLDEN RASIN also instead of dates.
  • Remove seeds next day and grind dates with water, you can add honey too.
  • Strain and serve.
  • You can drink water without grinding dates. Eat dates separately.
  • An ideal drink for Ramazan. Which will boost up your energy.

Crispy cutlets are not only delicious but a perfect snack for Iftar. Do try for kids Lunch box too. I am sure your kids will like them.

Samosa pattias needed
Chicken mince1/2 kg
Chopped green chilies3-4
Ginger garlic paste1 tsp
Crushed Black pepper1 tbsp
Onion (grate it and squeeze water)2 medium
Cumin seeds, roasted and crushed1 tsp
Mustard powder1 tbsp
Chinese salt1 and 1/2 tsp

  • In chicken mince add all ingredients and mix well.
  • Make a paste of flour to seal samosas. (2 tbsp. flour 4 tbsp. water mix well)
  • Make samosa and fry in oil on medium flame. Because chicken is raw so let it cook on medium to slow heat.
  • Serve with ketchup or any sauce.
  • You can freeze them for a month.

chicken cheese pockets mA perfect recipe for Iftar , Kid’s lunch boxes and Hi teas. You can make them and freeze, just before time take them out dip in egg and coat bread crumbs, fry and serve. You will defiantly get an appreciation from you family and friends.

  • In oil add chicken and stir for few seconds, now add soya sauce, salt, ajino moto,  black pepper, ketchup and mix well. Now add vegetables in it and stir for few seconds. Let it cool a bit and add mayonnaise and cheese in it. You can add red chili flakes also. You can omit cheese.

  • Take fresh bread and cut in circles.

  • Roll them with rolling pin.

  • Place chicken mixture in center and place second circle on top. Seal edges with flour paste. ( in 2 tbsp. flour/ maida add 3 -4 tbsp. water to make a thick paste )

  • Make all pockets, Dip in beaten egg and coat with crumbs. You can freeze them on this stage.

  • You can make only pockets too, without filling. Join two circles and dip in egg and coat in crumbs, fry on medium flame. Cut from center and fill any filling of your choice.

  • Enjoy with ketchup or any dip.
