CHEESY POTATO CAKES

INGREDIENTS:

Boiled and mashed Potatoes2 cups
Cheddar cheese shredded 1/2 cup
Egg1
Saltto taste
Butter, soft1 tbsp heap
Black pepper1 tsp
Chopped green chillies1 tsp
Flour1/2 cup
Oilfor frying
Sour creamFor serving( optional)
Spring onion chopped1 tbsp

METHOD:

  • Add all ingredients except egg in potatoes.
  • Mix well and make small cakes /patties.( You can add red chilli flakes instead of green chillies )
  • Beat egg and dip cakes in egg then roll in flour and fry.
  • Serve with sour cream.

Today I am sharing Lemon grass tea recipe thou it won’t miraculously cause you to lose weight in short time but it works as an effective resolution for your digestive problems. This is a detox drink for our body.
Rapid weight lose programs are risky I will highly recommend you to include healthy food in your diet along with 30 minutes of exercise.
According to Uzma Shehzad she excluded Flour made food, Rice, Sugar and all aerated drinks ( Carbonated drinks). She included 30 minute brisk walk in her daily routine.
Its better to drink this herbal tea either before meal which will help you feel less hungry or after meal it will help you to digest your food and limit weight gain.

lemon grass

INGREDIENTS:

Lemon grassfew sticks 3-4
Water1 cup
Green tea leaves1/4 tsp
Anise flower1
Honeyto taste

METHOD:

  • Boil 1 cup water, add lemon grass, green tea and anise star flower.
  • Give 1 or 2 boils and turn off the flame.
  • Cover with the lid for 5 minutes.
  • Strain and add honey . Ready to drink.
  • If you do not want to add anise flower then skip this.

SPAGHETTI TIKKA PIZZA

pizza ,mMake a pizza with spaghetti Crust. This is a great replacement of yeast bread base.You kiDs will also love this SPIZZA 🙂 If you are on diet then you should include this low carb Pizza in your diet.

INGREDIENTS:

Boiled spaghetti 1/2 packet
Egg1
Milk1/2 cup
Cheese (any of your choice)3/4 cup
Tomato paste 3 tbsp
Capsicum1 large
Onion1 cut in small cubes
Tomato1, in small cubes.
Oil1-2 tbsp
Oreganoto sprinkle.
Chicken Tikka check the quantity in the method.

METHOD:

  • Marinate chicken cubes (boneless) in chicken tikka spices. For recipe of chicken tikka marinade you can check this out: CHICKEN TIKKA PIZZA.
  • Fry in 1 tbsp oil, add tomato paste in it or you can add pizza sauce also in the chicken.
  • Add vegetables and stir. You can add Red chilli flakes (1/2 tsp).
  • Grate cheese and set aside.
  • Beat egg and mix milk in it, beat again and set aside,
  • Now in bowl add spaghetti and pour egg mixture in it. Toss with fork and then spread in a baking pan.
  • Spread evenly and spread pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce on spaghetti base (if you want to otherwise just spread chicken on spaghetti base).
  • Spread chicken and vegetable mixture.
  • Sprinkle cheese and oregano.
  • Bake at 180c for 20 minutes.
  • Serve hot.

CUCUMBER FETA ROLLS

cuc mIts not a difficult job to start developing healthy eating habits. Include 2 cups of veggies and 2 cups of fruit for a day. Include vegetable, fruits, whole grain, beans, peas, lentils in your daily diet and limit highly processed foods.

INGREDIENTS:

cucumber 1
Feta cheese or cottage3 oz
Capsicum and carrot, thinly cut2 tbsp
Olives, chopped2-3
Fresh parsley1 tsp
Lemon juice1 tsp
Black peppera fat pinch

METHOD:

  • Slice cucumber length wise with a vegetable  peeler.
  • In a bowl mix yogurt (2 tbsp) and cheese together with a fork. Mix all other ingredients. ( I have added cabbage too)
  • Place a spoonful of mixture on one side of cucumber and roll it.
  • Secure with toothpick .

COCONUT MILK COFFEE

COFFEE M I am a big coffee lover. When i tried coconut homemade creamer coffee i fell in love with the aroma and deliciousness of this coffee. I will highly recommend this coffee if you are diet and health conscious. I read somewhere coconut oil can burn fat of body. Now , this i do not know exactly but no doubt it is healthy.

INGREDIENTS FOR COCONUT COFFEE CREAMER:

Coconut milk1 cup
Honeyto taste
Vanilla essence few drops
Edible coconut oil2 tsp melted

METHOD:

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix well. Now add in coffee and enjoy coconut scented coffee.

 

Coconut Coffee:

  • Brew coffee (just half cup of  black coffee)  and add coconut milk creamer according to your taste. Add sugar or honey to adjust sweetens.

I can’t forget the taste of Basen parathas which my mother was making…Those who are on diet can add these yummy parathas in their diet plan.

INGREDIENTS:

Wheat flour1 cup
Gram flour1/2 cup
Onion small ,thinly sliced1
Green chillies,chopped2 small
Fresh coriander leaves2 tbsp
Saltto taste
Red chili powder1 tbsp
Whole coriander seeds,crushed1 tsp
Cumin seeds,crushed1/2 tsp
Anar dana/pomegranate seeds1/4 tsp(optional)
Oil/gheefor frying and 2 tbsp for adding in the flour.

METHOD:

  • Mix all ingredients in flours and knead with water.
  • Set a side for 1/2 hour and make parathas.
  • Make impressions with fork or knife, if you like.
  • Serve hot with green chateney.

GREEN CHATNEY /SAUCE:

Imli pulp/ tamarind 2 tbsp

Ginger1/2 tsp

  • Blend all ingredients and serve.

VEIGGIE NUGGETS

VEIGGIE NUGGETS
This recipe is specially for my son’s friends. If you ask any kid about their favorite snack, they will probabely tell you… Nuggets. Veggie nuggets are extremely healthy for you and your kids. Interesting thing is that you can add any vegetable of your choice.

INGREDIENTS:

Potato (boiled)2 large
Carrot1 large
Peas1/4 cup
Broccoli1/4 cup
Saltto taste
Black pepper1/2 tsp
Garlic powder1/4 tsp
Onion powder1/4 tsp
Plain flouras needed
Bread crumbsas needed
Eggs1-2
Oilfor greasing and spraying.

METHOD:

  • Boil all vegetables, with masher mash them completely and add all spices. Mix well.
  • Spread the mixture on a tray of 1/2 inch thickness and keep this in freeze for 1-2 hours. Then take it out and cut shapes from cookie cutter, place them on butter paper. Again keep them in freezer.
  • Grease your baking tray and preheat oven.
  • First coat them with flour then with egg and in the end with bread crumbs. Place on baking tray and spray oil on nuggets.
  • Bake them first few minutes from one side then turn the side and bake till golden color appear.
  • Serve with sauce.

SPICY AND CRISPY BAKED CHICKPEAS
Low fat and highly healthy snack or can be a lunch box item as well. Spicy and crunchy chickpeas are very easy to make, you can make them in just 10 minutes. Boil chickpeas and freeze them when needed just microwave them, add spices and  your crispy and spicy snack is ready…:)

INGREDIENTS:

Chickpeasas needed
Saltto taste
Red chili powderas needed
Crushed red chilliesto taste
Chat masalato taste
Oiljust to grease tray.

METHOD:

  • Boil chickpeas and drain water now with paper towel pat dry them .
  • On baking tray spray oil and spread chickpeas, sprinkle salt, red chili powder, crushed red chili and chat masala.
  • Toss them so that all spices coat on chickpeas evenly.
  • Bake at 180c till chickpeas become brown n crispy.
