Unsalted butter2 oz or 50 g
Cocoa 2 tsp for dusting
Dark chocolate, chopped2 oz or 50 g
Egg1 plus 1 egg yolk
Cater sugar2 -1/2 oz or 60 g
Coffee (prepared)2 tbsp
Flour2 oz or 50 g


  • Preheat oven at 150c. Grease ramekins with bitter and then dust with cocoa. Shake out any excess.
  • Place the chocolate and butter in a small heatproof bowl and set over  hot water until melted. Stir until smooth.
  • Cool for 10 minutes.
  • Whisk together the egg yolk and egg and sugar with an electric beater until pale and thick.
  • Add chocolate mixture and stir to combine.
  • Add coffee and fold in flour.
  • Divide between ramekins and bake for 12 -15 minutes at 180c.
  • Turn out on plate and serve hot or serve in Ramekins.

black forest cake mI have posted two black forest cakes recipes earlier but this recipe is an authentic and delicious treat for Black forest cake lovers. I myself love the taste of coffee in every bite of cake. Try it this Eid and enjoy with your family.


Flour1-2/3 cups
Butter1/2 cup
Sugar1- 1/2 cup
Vanilla essence1 tsp
Cocoa powder2/3 cup
Baking powder1 - 1/2 tsp
ButtermilkAdd 1 tsp vinegar in 1 cup milk and leave it for 15 minutes.
Salt1/4 tsp

Cherry juice1/2 cup
Butter1/2 cup
Icing sugar3 cups
Espresso1/4 cup
Fresh black or red cherries1 and 1/2 cups


Whipping cream2 cups
Icing sugar2 tbsp
Vanilla essence1/2 tsp
Milk powder2 tbsp
Chocolate shavesas needed
Cherries for garnishas needed

  • Soak pitted cherries in 1/2 cup of cherry juice overnight. You can replace cherry juice with pineapple juice too.
  • Preheat oven.
  • Sift dry ingredients and set aside.
  • Cream butter and sugar and add eggs and vanilla essence. Beat well.
  • Add dry ingredients alternating with buttermilk, after mixing pour cake batter in baking pan and bake at 180c until a tooth pick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool completely and cut into two halves.
  • Poke the surface of cake with toothpick and spread cherry and juice mixture on cake.
  • Now make filling, beat butter and icing sugar in a bowl till creamy. Add Coffee and beat well. If the mixture is thick then add cherry juice 1-2 tbsp.
  • Spread filling on cake and then spread pitted cherries on filling. Place another cake piece on top. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate it for 3-4 hours.
  •  Now whip cream and add, sugar, milk powder and essence.
  • Spread cream on all sides of cake.
  • Garnish with Chocolate Shaves.
  • Keep in refrigerator to set.

batman vs superman mI was planning to celebrate my Son Ali Rehman’s birthday in school with his teachers and friends. He also was very excited and giving me a number of ideas. He asked me to make a theme cake. It was his last birthday in junior section, after a month he will be in Senior section. So we decided to make his birthday memorable.

First step was to decide the theme of his birthday. A  theme can bring a sense of harmony to the whole atmosphere. When I asked from Ali, he is totally mad about Batman VS Superman movie these days. He gave me few ideas but on top it was his favorite character batman.

I have decided to prepare goody bags or party favors myself instead of buying them from market. I will post the method of making goody bags in my future post. But it was very satisfying to make themed bags for boys and girls separately with my own hands. It took two weeks to work on these favors. I have done Quill art on girls party favors.

Most important treat for kids is a CAKE. My son asked me to bake a chocolate cake with Batman vs Superman theme. First I roughly drew a sketch of cake 2-3 days before birthday. I sculpt bat man and super man without using any fondant tool. First try it was but not bad actually 🙂

After a lot of efforts and hard work It was satisfying to see enthusiasm and joy in kids eyes and faces. They simply loved it all the things.

Cake recipe I have selected which is my son’s most favorite. That is PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE 🙂

I have used Hershey’s Cocoa and chocolate which was of awesome taste.

  • Sugar                        2 cups
  • Flour                         1 and 3/4 cup
  • Hershey’s cocoa      3/4 cup
  • Baking powder        1 and 1/2 tsp
  • Baking soda             1 and 1/2 tsp
  • Salt                            1 tsp
  • Eggs                          2
  • Milk                           1 cup
  • Vegetable oil            1/2 cup
  • Warm water            1 cup
  • Vanilla essence       1 tsp


  • In a bowl add all dry ingredients and mix well with whisk. Now add all wet ingredients one by one and beat on medium speed with electric beater. Its better to add water in small quantity first. Add till required consistency obtain.
  • Pour in grease pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven till done. Baking temperature is 180c.
  • Remove from oven and cool completely.



  • Butter                      1/2 cup
  • Powdered sugar    3 cups
  • Hershey’s cocoa     2/3 cup
  • Vanilla essence        1 tbsp
  • Milk                         1/3 cup


  • Melt butter on room temperature and mix cocoa in it.
  • Add powdered sugar and milk in small quantity, beat well again add sugar and milk. Beat well.
  • You can add milk if you need more. Add vanilla and beat.
  • Frosting is ready.
  • Cut the cake in layers and spread this frosting.
  • Cover the cake and spread fondant blue and yellow layer on cake, as shown in picture.

cocomut cake mThis is my all time favorite cake. Very easy and delicious in taste. I found this recipe in cooking expert Kokab Khwaja’s cooking show. Hope you will also enjoy this recipe.


  • Flour         1 and 1/2 cups
  • Sugar         1 cup, grind it
  • Butter        1/2 cup
  • Eggs            2
  • Baking powder   1 tsp
  • Coconut      1/2 cup ( desiccated)
  • Milk             2 tbsp


  • Pre heat oven at 150c. Grease cake pan.
  • Beat butter and sugar till creamy.
  • Now add 1 spoon of flour and 1 egg. Beat well.
  • Now add second egg and remaining flour.
  • Add milk.
  • Add coconut and fold gently.
  • Add batter in pan and bake at 180c.
  • Check after 20-15 minutes by inserting a toothpick.
  • After baking take it out and let it cool completely.
  • Serve with tea.

  • Plain flour                         2 cups
  • Castor sugar                     1 and 1/2 cup
  •  Butter                                100 g OR 1/2 cup
  • Eggs                                    2
  • Vanilla essence                 1 tsp
  • Butter milk                        1 cup
  • Baking soda                      1 tsp level
  • Baking powder                 1 tsp level
  • Cocoa powder                   3 tbsp.
  • Hot water                          1 tbsp.
  • Coffee granules                1 tbsp
  • Walnuts                             1/2 cup
  • Chocolate chips               1/2 cup

  • Grease pan and preheat oven at 150c.
  • Add 1 tsp vinegar in 1 cup milk and stir, set aside. This is butter milk.
  • In a large bowl add butter and sugar, beat till creamy.
  • Add eggs one by one. Beat well till fluffy.
  • Mix all dry ingredients and sieve.
  • Add Vanilla essence in egg mixture and beat.
  • Add half dry ingredients and half butter milk, beat well.
  • Add remaining half of flour mixture and milk.
  • Mix coffee granules in hot water and dissolve. Add in cake batter. Mix well.
  • Mix chopped walnuts in it and half chocolate chips. Mix well and pour in pan.
  • Spread remaining walnuts and chips on batter and bake at 180c.

frozen fudge cake mI enjoyed arranging parties on every weekends when my Nephew and niece were with me. Last 2 months were full of fun and excitement.  We use to arrange small parties with different themes.

It was fun to plan and involve all five kids. Frozen party theme was specially for my Niece Laiba Noor, who asked me to make Elsa cake with Olaf. I have baked fudge cake and decorated it with fondant. Thou My Elsa was not resembling the actual one but Kids loved it.

  • In a bowl add butter and sugar (brown and white) beat well till creamy.
  • Add eggs one by one . Beat and add all dry ingredients alternating with butter milk.
  • Add milk and coffee , beat well and pour in pan. Bake at 180c for 25 minutes.
  • Let it cool completely and cut in three parts. Spread fudge sauce and decorate with fondant.


  • Add all ingredients in a pan and cook on low flame.
  • Keep on stirring till smooth.
  • Let it cool a bit then use.

almond cake Hajj mubarak mThis special cake I made for my Brother Nauman Noor and sister in law Madiha Nauman. Allah blessed them to perform Hajj this year 2015. May Allah give us all this opportunity and shower his blessings upon us.


I and my niece Laiba Nauman planned to make a Hajj Theme cake for them. Hope you will like and try this. Do not forget to comment 🙂



Flour1 cup
Sugar3/4 cup (grind it)
Butter1/2 cup
Corn flour4 tbsp
Milk1/2 cup
Baking powder1 tsp
Almonds crushed1/2 cup
Vanilla essence1 tsp


  • Pre heat oven and grease pan.
  • Mix all dry ingredients and add nuts almonds in it. Coat flour on almonds. Set  aside.
  • In a bowl cream butter and sugar.  Add eggs one by one and beat.
  • Now add half flour mixture and half milk, beat then again add flour and milk. Beat well.
  • Pour in pan and bake at 180c for 20-25 minutes.
  • You can serve as it is or decorate it with fondant.
  • Spread a thin layer of butter cream and cover the cake with rolled fondant.

  • Now add flour alternating with butter milk. Beat and add remaining flour and butter milk.
  • Take 1/4 mixture out in a separate bowl.
  • In a small bowl mix cocoa and hot water, mix till smooth paste form. Mix this paste of cocoa in 1/4 batter and mix well.
  • Pour half plain batter in pan and spread cocoa batter on it.
  • Pour remaining batter on cocoa batter.
  • Run knife through the batter in swirling motion to give marble effect.
  • Bake at 180c till done.

  • Place chocolate, icing sugar, butter and vanilla essence in a pan and cook till melt.
  • Spread on cake and let it cool down.
  • Cut in slices and serve.

This is an amazing recipe. If you are banana cake lover then you should not miss this recipe. Taste of coconut and banana is divine with caramel topping.

  • Pre heat oven and grease pans.
  • Mix flour, baking powder and soda. Set a side.
  • In a large bowl beat butter and sugar till creamy. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla essence.
  • Now add half flour and then butter milk. Beat and add flour then again butter milk.
  • Cut slices of banana and place on greased pan.
  • In a pan add brown sugar, butter and lemon juice, mix well till melt. Pour on banana slices.
  • Spread coconut flakes on caramel and then pour cake batter carefully.
  • Bake it at 180c till done.
  • Let it cool completely and take it out.
  • Serve with cream.

RED VELVET CAKE MMy favorite recipe by Martha Stewart which is very delicious and no fail. Try this seven minute frosting with red velvet cake, you will like it.


Flour2 -1/2 cup
Oil1 cup
Cocoa 1/4 cup
Butter milk1 cup
Sugar (grind it)1 -1/2 cup
Red food color1 tsp or as needed
Vanilla essence1 tsp
Baking soda1 -1/2 tsp
White Vinegar2 tsp


  • Pre heat oven and grease 2 round pans of 9 by 2 inches.
  • In a bowl add flour, salt and cocoa and set aside.
  • Add Oil and sugar in a large bowl beat well till creamy. Now add eggs one by one. beat well and ad Vanilla essence and food color.
  • Now add half flour alternating with butter milk (you can make butter milk at home by adding 1 cup milk and 1 tsp vinegar leave it for 10 minutes then use).
  • Mix vinegar and soda in a small bowl and add in batter. Mix well and pour batter in pans and bake till done.
  • Cool them completely and start icing.


  • 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. icing sugar
  • 3 egg whites at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup

In a heavy bottom pan add 3/4 cup sugar, corn syrup and 2 tbsp. water. Cook till sugar dissolve completely. Now raise heat and let it boil, do not stir just dip spatula in cold water and scrap sides of pan to avoid crystallization.  Cook for 2-3 minutes more.

In a large bowl beat egg whites till rise and flyffy. Add 2 tbsp. sugar and beat again.

Start adding sugar syrup very carefully down the side of bowl. Beat on medium speed till frosting cool.

Use immediately.

Frosting should be thick and shiny.

Marie Biscuits1 large packet
Sugar10 tsp
Cocoa1 tbsp
Butter6 oz


  • Break each biscuit into three. set aside.
  • In a pan add butter, let it soft then add eggs, cocoa powder, sugar. Flame should be low.
  • With whisk mix well till smooth and thick.
  • Now add chopped nuts and biscuits. Coat well.
  • Take a plastic bag and carefully fill in this mixture. Tap on surface and with light hands press it down then roll it and make a cylinder shape.
  • Keep in refrigerator till set. Remove plastic bag and cut slices.
  • Serve immediately.

Butter200g/ 7oz
Dark chocolate ,broken into pieces125g /4oz
Caster Sugar11 oz
Plain flour3 oz
Cocoa3 oz
Baking powder1/2 tsp
Caramel (Hershey's) 1 cup


  • Pre heat oven to 150c.
  • Line your baking pan with butter paper and grease it.
  • Melt the butter and chocolate together in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water.
  • Beat together the eggs, yolk and sugar with electric beater until thick and pale.
  • Fold in the chocolate mixture.
  • Stir in the flour, cocoa and baking powder, whisk to combine.
  • Pour half the batter in baking pan for 10 minutes. Meanwhile beat the caramel with a fork to soften.
  • Evenly swirl the caramel over the baked mixture and top with the remaining brownie batter.
  • Bake for 25 minutes approx.
  • Cool and then cut into squares.

poopyseed cake mThis fresh scented, moist and lemony cake is a perfect treat for tea time parties. You can use orange instead of lemons.


Butter3/4 cup
Flour1 and 1/2 cup
Baking powder 3/4 tsp
Salt1/2 tsp
Poppy seeds1 tbsp
Sugar1 cup
Vanilla essence1 tsp
Grated lemon zest2 tbsp
Lemon juice1/3 cup
Milk1/2 cup

  • Preheat oven at 150c and grease loaf pan. (you can use any pan).
  • In a bowl stir flour, baking powder, salt and poppy seeds. Set aside.
  • In another bowl beat butter and sugar with electric beater till fluffy.
  • Add eggs one by one and beat well.
  • Now add vanilla essence and lemon zest.
  • Add half flour and then half milk beat on low speed, then add flour and half milk again beat on low speed.
  • Pour in greased pan and bake at 180c till inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  • In a a saucepan boil lemon juice and sugar 1/3 cup to prepare lemon syrup.
  • Remove cake from oven. While in the pan poke holes in cake with toothpick and pour syrup on cake let it cool down then remove from pan and serve.

mini cheese cake mA perfect party treat for all age groups. Very easy to make in few minutes. And interesting thing is base of these cakes. You can either use oreo biscuits as a base or use digestive biscuits end result will be marvelous.


Digestive biscuits1 cup
Butter3 tbsp
Sugar2 tbsp
Cream cheese500g or 16oz
Cream2 and 1/2 cup
Icing sugar1 and 1/2 cup
Gelatin powder1 tbsp
Water2 tbsp
Vanilla essence1 tsp


  • In a bowl add finely chopped/ grind biscuits , butter and sugar. Mix well and spread in spring pan or muffin cases. Press with spoon and bake it for 10 minutes at 180c.
  • Now soak gelatin in 2 tbsp. water.
  • Beat cream cheese and add sugar till smooth.
  • Now add Cream and beat again till fluffy.
  • Place gelatin in microwave for 10 seconds and dissolve it.
  • Add this in cream mixture.
  • Pour on biscuit base and for mini Oreo base just place Oreo in muffin pan base and then pour cream mixture on it.Spread it evenly with the back of spoon.
  • Place in refrigerator till well set.
  • Remove from pan very carefully.

  • Top with any topping of your choice.

  • I have mixed Oreo biscuits (crushed) in cream mixture. You can skip this step.

Sometimes i don’t want him to get older 😀 he will celebrate his 4th birthday today inshallah. Sometimes I just watch him laughing, talking ,fighting with his elder brother Ali, teasing him and taking his things..lolzz, hugging and kissing  me. My kids are everything to me.Love his cute smile.   • Now mix flour in it. Fold and pour in baking pan.
  • Bake it at 180c till done.
  • Let it cool down completely and then divide in two halves.
  • Take a black cherry can and drain cherries, pour this juice from cherries in a pan and add corn flour.
  • Mix well till thick sauce prepared.
  • Let it cool slightly and then add cherries and essence in this sauce.
  • Whip the cream and add icing sugar to taste , spread cream on one half and then spread cherries on top then place another half of cake and spread cake all over.
  • Garnish with cherries and keep in fridge.
  • Serve chill.
